Job Description: Manager Operations International Freight
KRA:
1. Design operations process on All India level for all products.
2. Identify the best team at each location.
3. Identify the software for implementing the process.
4. Train the team.
5. Understand the requirements of the customers.
6. Ensure complete customer satisfaction.
7. Prevent all revenue leakages.
8. Quick and effective solutions for critical cargoes.
9. Risk mitigation.
10.Minimization of mistakes and maximization of profits
11.Regular reporting to management.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Freight Management:
o Coordinate and manage freight forwarding operations for import and export
shipments.
o Arrange transportation modes based on client requirements cost and timelines.
o Track shipments and ensure timely delivery resolving any delays or disruptions.
o Coordinate with carriers trucking companies and other service providers to ensure
efficient movement of goods.
2. Documentation and Compliance:
o Prepare and verify all necessary shipping documents.
o Ensure compliance with customs regulations including HS codes tariff
classifications and import/export laws.
o Submit customs entries and other regulatory documents in a timely manner.
o Manage all relevant documentation and recordkeeping for audit purposes.
3. Customer Service:
o Act as the main point of contact for clients providing shipment updates and
handling inquiries.
o Work closely with clients to understand their specific shipping needs and offer
solutions.
o Handle and resolve issues proactively ensuring customer satisfaction and retention.
4. Cost Control and Billing:
o Negotiate rates with carriers shipping lines and other vendors to optimize cost
efficiency.
o Review and verify invoices from service providers ensuring accuracy.
o Prepare and process billing for clients on time ensuring transparency in pricing and
costs.
5. Problem Solving and Coordination:
o Identify potential challenges or disruptions in logistics and find solutions to mitigate
risks.
o Collaborate with internal departments (sales finance warehouse) to streamline
operations and improve service.
6. Continuous Improvement:
o Propose improvements to streamline processes and enhance service quality.
o Stay updated with industry trends technology and regulatory changes in freight
forwarding and logistics.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree in Logistics Supply Chain Management International
Business or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 68 years of experience in freight forwarding or logistics
operations.
Skills:
o Strong knowledge of international freight forwarding processes customs
regulations and documentation.
o Proficiency in freight management software and MS Office Suite.
o Excellent organizational multitaskingtraining and problemsolving skills.
o Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Certification: Any certification in logistics or freight forwarding (e.g. IATA
FIATA) is a plus.
