About Us

The Centre dInnovation de Lubumbashi (CINOLU) is a notforprofit organization that was founded in December 2015 to ignite regional competitiveness of young innovators and young entrepreneurs of DRC through innovation technology and entrepreneurship.

CINOLU is an innovation space and business incubator that offers a coworking space and incubation programs. Our mission is to activate and sustain the rise of strong innovation ecosystems in DRC and Africa by equipping young innovators and entrepreneurs with the skills and values to succeed as competitive startups at the continental level.

Our work over the last 5 years has involved creating programs and initiatives that ignite innovation educate and create opportunities for entrepreneurs and youths within our community and nation.

We work with government and corporate partners network organizations like Afrilabs Africinnov Africa Europe Innovation Partnerships (AEIP) and Innovation for Policy foundation (I4Policy) to deliver the best quality services and programs.

In addition to our regular programs Cinolu has a womens Lab (Femmes360) which focuses on empowering female entrepreneurs and girls and women in technology and innovation.

About the Role

Centre dinnovation de Lubumbashi is looking to hire a Fundraising Consultant for any or all of the abovementioned projects. The role will support CINOLUs leadership in developing a rigorous fundraising strategy to allow for crowding in of donor public and private resources to deliver strategic priorities and programs that will be prioritised under the projects.

The role will work closely with CINOLU senior leadership to achieve fundraising strategies. The role is expected to boost outreach capabilities while developing new opportunities for strategic funders to support Africa wide programs and countryspecific programs.

Further this role will require rapid identification of potential donors funders and partners and will develop pitches and investmentready cases that align with the interests of the funders

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement fundraising strategies and funding approaches for project delivery.
  • Develop donor pitches grant proposals briefing packs and any other material necessary for fundraising.
  • Develop and manage a calendar of fundraising engagements and events
  • Conduct earlystage engagements with donors funders investors and the public sector to gauge interest and focus areas that align with the ambitions of the partnership
  • Keep track of funding commitments and requirements as they are converted
  • Track and report progress on fundraising efforts
  • Continuously scan for opportunities to approach potential partners and funders

Stretch and improve your communication and leadership skills and organizational capabilities in this pivotal role.

Required qualifications:

  • Past successful fundraising experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the donor and investor landscape in Africa with a particular focus on the agriculture and gender sector.
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in PR and Communications business finance economics or related field (preferred) plus 2 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Exemplary communication abilities and outgoing yet poised personality including the ability to produce highquality pitches and deliver highlevel presentations to potential partners
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Quick thinker and ability to make decisions under pressure
  • Ability to develop meaningful and trusted relationships with donor investor and public sector stakeholders
  • Effectiveness as a team player and team builder and performing well in a startup atmosphere
  • Ability to multitask and efficiently manage time multiple partners engagements and workload.
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Can work remotely.

Application and recruiting Process

We are hiring 3 fundraisers across Africa who are willing and able to work remotely. Remunerations for this position is based on a revenuesharing scheme and can be negotiated.
