The Overnight Houseperson at Fairmont Century Plaza plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness organization and readiness of the hotels public areas and backofhouse spaces during the overnight hours. Responsibilities include assisting with room setups handling guest requests for additional amenities and ensuring a clean and welcoming environment for guests and colleagues.
What you will be doing:
- You consistently offer professional friendly and engaging service
- You establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and supervisors
- You manage the movement of products/equipment/materials in and/or out of main housekeeping supply rooms
- You stock carts and closets with linens general supplies and guest supplies essential to the cleaning and servicing of the guest rooms
- You collect remove and dispose trash and dirty linens from checked out rooms as well as trash from public area of section you are in charge
- You clean outside windows hallways stairs balconies and railings trash rooms elevator landings ice machine rooms storage areas and closets
- You deliver and retrieve items to and from the guest rooms
- You supply arrival room with bathrobes.
- You assist Supervisor in completion of special requests or misc. projects
- You clean and keep orderly all assigned public areas
- You complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
- You sign in and out master keys radios/mobile electronics daily
- You familiarize with Hotels technology and communication platforms and utilize to ensure hotel operation and guest satisfaction
- You return and properly tag all lost and found articles in the Housekeeping Office
- You follow all departmental policies and procedures and service standards
- You report necessary maintenance items
- You adhere to local and externally relevant health and safety laws and policies
- You adhere to SDS (Safety Data Sheet) information related to the proper and safe use of chemicals in the workplace
- You follow all safety and sanitation policies
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications :
Your experience and skills include:
- Must be willing to work overnight
- Ability to follow instruction work with others and work independently
- Ability to communicate fluently with our guests
- Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision
- Previous Customer Service experience an asset
- Previous Cleaning or janitorial experience an asset
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
- Integrity and works well when Supervisors are not present
- Ability to manage own time efficiently
- Ability to safely handle heavy equipment and machinery
- Able to work safely with a variety of cleaning supplies
- Able to use basic cleaning equipment
- Familiarity with Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
- Highly responsible and reliable
- Spoken and written English
