Role at a Glance:
- Assess students speech language and communication abilities.
- Provide direct therapy services to students either individually or in small groups focusing on specific communication goals.
- Craft individualized treatment plans to address various speech and language disorders including issues with articulation fluency voice and comprehension.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings collaborating with the IEP team to establish suitable goals and interventions for students.
- Collaborate with teachers parents and other educational professionals to integrate speech and language objectives into the students academic curriculum and daily routines.
- Maintain precise records of assessment outcomes therapy sessions progress reports and other necessary documentation ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
Requirements
- Hold ASHA certification to be considered.
- A Masters Degree in Speech Pathology or a related field is required.
- Eligibility for or possession of an SLP license in Illinois is necessary.
