Role Overview:
SMG is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee business development operational efficiency growth strategy new client acquisition and client relations. This position will play a critical role in driving client satisfaction improving internal processes and managing daytoday operations. The ideal candidate will possess a mix of strategic thinking operational management skills and a handson approach to ensure high standards across all aspects of the firm s operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruitment & Team Management: Manage the recruitment of senior sales and operational staff ensuring successful integration.
- Operational Leadership: Oversee daytoday operations improve internal processes and ensure the efficient execution of strategic initiatives.
- Client Service Excellence: Ensure that all clientfacing activities are high quality delivering exceptional service and building longterm relationships.
- Business Development Support: Collaborate closely with business development teams to acquire new clients and ensure smooth transitions from sales to execution.
- Strategic Process Improvements: Lead initiatives to streamline internal processes and drive improvements in performance and efficiency.
- Gatekeeper Responsibilities: Manage access to the CEO and screen prospective clients partners vendors and new hires.
Month 1 Evaluation Focus:
- Recruit a senior sales executive and support their successful integration into the firm.
- Identify and implement operational improvements to drive efficiency and client satisfaction.
- Close a minimum of one new client engagement (minimum $50K contract).
Ongoing Responsibilities:
- Oversee daytoday operations including task and workflow management administrative tasks and vendor relations.
- Manage client communications and ensure timely and professional service delivery.
- Daily checkins progress reports and project management oversight.
- Lead social media and LinkedIn outreach to increase brand visibility.
Compensation:
- Successbased compensation for the Month 1 Evaluation is capped at 15% of the closed contract value (up to $7500 on a $50K contract).
- Longterm leadership or partnership potential for exceptional performers.
Relevant Experience:
- 15 years of experience at toptier consulting firms (e.g. McKinsey Bain BCG) private equity or venture capital firms (e.g. Carlyle Blackstone KKR).
- Proven experience in operational management business development and client relations.
- Strong critical thinking problemsolving and interpersonal skills.
