The Ecommerce Product Research & Market Data Analyst will be responsible for conducting indepth product research analyzing market trends and providing insights to support product development and sales strategies. This role involves evaluating competitors identifying product opportunities and leveraging data to drive business growth within ecommerce platforms. The ideal candidate is analytical detailoriented and experienced in interpreting market data for actionable business decisions.
Responsibilities:
Conduct product research to identify trends emerging categories and potential opportunities within the ecommerce market.
Analyze competitor products pricing strategies and market positioning to provide insights for product development and pricing strategies.
Utilize data from ecommerce platforms sales reports and market research tools to evaluate product performance and identify growth opportunities.
Collaborate with the product marketing and sales teams to align product research with business goals and market demand.
Monitor and track customer preferences buying behavior and feedback to identify potential product improvements.
Conduct regular audits of product listings ensuring product information is optimized and aligned with current market conditions.
Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key metrics such as sales trends market share and product performance.
Stay uptodate on industry trends consumer behavior and technological advancements to inform business strategy.
Analyze sales data traffic patterns and customer feedback to identify patterns and opportunities for product optimization.
Work with crossfunctional teams to provide datadriven recommendations for product launches promotional activities and inventory management.
Perform competitive analysis to benchmark product positioning and develop strategies to gain a competitive edge.
Assist in forecasting product demand based on market research and historical data trends.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Business Marketing Data Analytics Economics or a related field.
12 years of experience in product research data analysis or a related role ideally within the ecommerce industry.
Experience with data analysis tools (Excel Google Analytics SQL etc.) and ecommerce platforms (Amazon Shopify etc.).
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and synthesize large datasets.
Proficiency in using market research tools and analytics platforms.
Ability to provide actionable insights from data to influence product and business strategies.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Detailoriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to collaborate with crossfunctional teams and work in a fastpaced environment.
