Cloud Architect AVP/VP
This role is critical to the organizations technology strategy with a focus on a cloudfirst approach. The Cloud Architect will bring expertise in enterprise architecture with a strong background in executing cloud strategies for largescale projects. This role will lead enterprisewide initiatives in areas such as data governance digital transformation and application rationalization.
The ideal candidate should possess deep technical skills enabling them to not only provide strategic direction but also resolve complex technical issues especially when migrating from legacy systems to modern technology stacks. Expertise in operational support (L3) is also expected. Key technical competencies include Azure Cloud DevSecOps FinOps data lakes and business analytics platforms.
This role is responsible for delivering cloud deployment solutions across departments including sales operations HR and finance in order to meet business objectives. The candidate will prepare technical solution designs and hand them over to the software development team. The candidate should also maintain relationships with IT companies stay updated on the latest trends and perform competitive analysis for software development projects. Experience in the insurance domain is preferred and the role includes mentoring the team and ensuring that architecture aligns with business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cloud Consulting: Provide technical and consultative guidance on complex engagements delivering architectural designs and solutions based on industry best practices.
- Platform & Infrastructure Management: Manage both onpremises and cloud infrastructure ensuring alignment with longterm IT strategies.
- Project Leadership: Lead small to largescale engagements and execute complex consulting services based on best practices.
- ProblemSolving: Propose solutions for dynamic customer challenges during engagements.
- Technical Expertise: Provide expert guidance to business teams and partners driving the architecture and ensuring optimal alignment with business strategies.
- Solution Roadmaps: Create and implement solution roadmaps and select appropriate infrastructure and technology platforms.
Project / Delivery Management:
- Ensure that solutions meet customer requirements and adhere to organizational standards.
- Identify reusable components to accelerate solution delivery.
- Implement DevOps tools for continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD).
- Conduct capacity management and proof of concept (POC) for emerging technologies.
Solution Architecture:
- Develop solution architectures for business infrastructure or functional areas.
- Produce specifications for cloudbased or onpremises components and interfaces.
- Support projects by preparing technical plans and ensuring compliance with enterprise architecture standards.
Systems Design & Integration:
- Design components using modeling techniques that follow agreed standards and methodologies.
- Conduct system integration testing and ensure proper configuration for integration builds.
- Review and verify designs to ensure they meet specifications.
Risk Management:
- Mitigate design and architecture risks by analyzing processes and systems.
Skills Required:
- Extensive experience with Azure and other cloud platforms (AWS/GCP).
- Experience with Microsoft cloud services (Azure IaaS DevOps etc.).
- Expertise in big data technologies such as Azure Delta Lake.
- Experience in migrating workloads from onpremises to Azure.
- Knowledge of architecture frameworks (Zachman TOGAF) and digital transformation.
- Strong interpersonal communication and leadership skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in engineering (preferably in Electronics/Telecommunications or Information).
- 12 years of experience in Java J2EE and cloudbased frameworks.
- Microsoft Azure certifications preferred.
