Job Description:
A System Administrator often abbreviated as sysadmin is responsible for the maintenance configuration and reliable operation of computer systems and servers. Their primary duties include:
- Installing and configuring hardware and software components to ensure system security and efficiency.
- Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues.
- Creating user accounts and managing access control.
- Installing and upgrading software and operating systems.
- Performing regular backups and ensuring data integrity.
- Collaborating with network engineers to ensure smooth operation of the organizations IT infrastructure.
- Providing technical support and guidance to users.
- Documenting system configurations and changes.
- Implementing and maintaining security measures to protect systems and data.
- Conducting periodic system audits and ensuring compliance with security policies.
*This position is a technical project manager to guide NFS storage migrations for Linux and Solaris systems. The ideal candidate is able to
* manage the coordination of migrations with 200 application teams
* discuss technical aspects of migration options with application teams
* complete the data migrations as scheduled
