Job Description
Job Title: GIS Systems Architect
Location: Fairfax Virginia (Onsite)
We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualifications
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement enterprise GIS systems and applications to meet business requirements. Develop and maintain architecture for GIS infrastructure.
- Administer and support ArcGIS Enterprise Portal ArcGIS Server (including Image Server Business Analyst Enterprise) and ArcGIS Online. Ensure optimal performance and reliability of GIS systems.
- Perform performance tuning troubleshooting and diagnostic operations to ensure efficient operation of GIS systems.
- Determine requirements for new GIS systems by working with stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Oversee and manage the full enterprise GIS stack including enterprise GIS databases desktop GIS applications and webbased GIS platforms (e.g. ArcGIS Online VertiGIS Studio).
- Customize and extend base GIS software including ArcGIS Pro extensions and custom controls to enhance functionality and meet specific requirements.
- Work closely with other IT and GIS professionals to integrate GIS solutions with existing systems and ensure seamless operation.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in designing implementing and supporting enterprise GIS systems. Extensive experience with ArcGIS Enterprise Portal ArcGIS Server and ArcGIS Online.
- Proficiency in administering and optimizing enterprise GIS infrastructure. Experience with full GIS stack including databases desktop applications and web platforms (e.g. ArcGIS Online VertiGIS Studio).
- Experience customizing and extending GIS software such as ArcGIS Pro extensions and custom controls.
- Strong skills in performance tuning troubleshooting and diagnosing complex GIS system issues.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with stakeholders and documenting system requirements and solutions.
