Job Description
Job Title: Senior Infrastructure Construction Coordinator
Location: Fairfax Virginia (Onsite)
We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualifications
Responsibilities:
- Manage and support the installation of voice and data cable services for capital projects performed by contractors and vendors.
- Provide telecommunication support to county agencies for renovation and construction projects.
- Ensure the optimal performance of voice communication systems related peripherals messaging systems and cable plant infrastructure.
- Conduct research field trials and provide evaluations recommendations and standards for county communication infrastructure.
- Participate in design review meetings and provide comments to meet Department of Information Technology (DIT) requirements.
- Prepare design and technical specifications project plans and manage project expenditures for DIT infrastructure.
- Coordinate work with various contractors general contractors architects and Capital Facilities project managers.
- Monitor inspect and enforce the installation of infrastructure systems to ensure quality and compliance.
- Attend virtual and onsite construction project meetings and sign off on renovation and Capital Facilities construction documents and drawings on behalf of DIT.
- Stay updated on IT industry innovations and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in managing infrastructure construction projects particularly related to voice and data cable installations.
- Strong knowledge of voice communication systems messaging systems and cable plant infrastructure.
- Experience in preparing design specifications project plans and managing project expenditures.
- Proven ability to coordinate with contractors architects and project managers.
- Excellent inspection and enforcement skills for infrastructure installations.
- Strong communication skills with experience in attending and participating in construction project meetings.
- Ability to stay informed about IT industry trends and regulatory requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with capital projects and renovation projects for county or government agencies.
- Experience in IT industry innovations and best practices in communication infrastructure.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
