Job Description
Job Title: Senior Network Engineer
Location: Fairfax Virginia (Onsite)
We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualifications
Responsibilities:
- Design and deploy functional networks including LAN WLAN VPN SDWAN WAN MAN and SDN.
- Configure install and manage software servers routers firewalls and other network devices (physical and virtual).
- Monitor and analyze network performance ensuring high reliability and integrity.
- Provide Tier 3 support troubleshooting escalated issues from cloud and local infrastructure.
- Automate tasks and processes continually monitoring their effectiveness.
- Maintain security protocols and access control models to safeguard network infrastructure.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 6 years of experience in network engineering with a solid background in network administration and architecture in wired and wireless enterprise infrastructures.
- Expertise in designing and managing MPLS VLAN VRFs and VxLAN environments.
- Deep understanding of communication protocols (TCP/IP) and routing protocols (BGP OSPF).
- Experience in network security access control models and firewalls (e.g. Palo Alto).
- Proficiency in scripting with coding languages such as Python and Perl for task automation.
- Experience with network diagnostic and monitoring tools (e.g. SolarWinds Splunk).
- Strong knowledge of network operating systems like JUNOS and Cisco IOS.
- Professional certifications (e.g. CCNP CCDP CCIE) preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues independently or in collaboration with a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Handson experience with Cisco (ASR Nexus Catalyst) Juniper (routers switches firewalls) and Palo Alto security products.
- Expertise in F5 Viprion Load Balancing and DNS VM NSXT AVI Load Balancer and InfoBlox IPAM DNS and DHCP.
- Experience in SolarWinds NPM for network performance monitoring.
- Sharp troubleshooting skills and the ability to manage complex network challenges effectively.
