As a Senior Teradata DBA you will play a pivotal role in the successful migration of our Teradata onpremises systems to Teradata Vantage in the cloud. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth transition optimizing performance and troubleshooting any issues that arise during and after the migration. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining the reliability availability and performance of our Teradata environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the migration of Teradata onpremises systems to Teradata Vantage in the cloud.
Design implement and manage Teradata databases in the cloud environment.
Optimize database performance and ensure high availability and reliability.
Troubleshoot and resolve database issues errors and performance bottlenecks.
Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to ensure seamless integration and data consistency.
Develop and implement best practices for database management backup and recovery.
Monitor database health performance and security.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior DBAs and other team members.
Stay updated with the latest Teradata technologies tools and best practices.
Required Expertise:
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Teradata DBA with at least 5 years in a senior or lead role.
Migration Experience: Proven experience in migrating Teradata onpremises systems to Teradata Vantage in the cloud.
Cloud Expertise: Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS Azure or Google Cloud) and experience with Teradata Vantage in the cloud.
Database Management: Indepth understanding of Teradata architecture database design and performance tuning.
Backup and Restore: Expertise in Backup and Restore using Teradata Data Stream Architecture (DSA).
Performance Tuning : Expertise with TASM (Teradata Active System Management)
Troubleshooting: Excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.
Scripting: Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g. BTEQ SQL Shell Python) for automation and database management.
Security: Knowledge of database security best practices and experience implementing security measures.
Communication: Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with crossfunctional teams.
Certifications: Teradata certification is a plus.
