Job Description
Job Title: SQL Developer
Location: WinstonSalem NC(23 days onsite in a week)
Duration: Contract
Interview: Webex & Inperson
Job Description:
- Must have some Java experience not an expert level and this is not a Java development position but some recent exposure.
- 8 Years of MS SQL experience.
- Must understand programming 4 years of programing experience
- Must have scripting experience with PowerShell Java
- Must have 4 years of Operation experience
The HM is looking for someone who has 8 years of MS SQL experience and they have to have 4 years of Programing skills (SQL)
- If the person has AWS its a plus since they are moving to AWS Any cloud experience is a plus
- Extensive SQL Design and Development
- Extensive Stored Procedures (Must be strong)
- Strong SSIS SSRS and TSQL skills required
- SQL Reporting and Database development
- Data warehouse knowledge a plus (Small part)
- Experience trouble shooting SQL Databases
- The team size is 10 Core Distributed Team made up of Developer and Database Developers
- Experience cleaning and purging data
- The candidate need to available to work on call In case of an emergency
- The person will be doing a combination of Building & Maintaining
- Must have great communication skills
- Will be working on Multiple Projects at a time
- Ability to complete task in a timely manner
This is an enterprise systems distributed development position where the primary responsibilities of the SQL development team include: architecture and design of a multiterabyte SQL environment with emphasis upon security high availability optimization performance tuning and automation.
Qualifications required:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science /Information Technology or equivalent experience
- 8 years of Microsoft SQL experience with at least 4 years of operational experience in an enterprise database environment and 4 years of programing experience
- Experience with MS SQL Serveror newer
- Detail oriented with excellent organizational followup and analytical skills
- Excellent Verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with Microsoft Visual Basic and/or Microsoft C#/.NET with preference being within ETL packages
Qualifications desired:
- Worked extensively with complex SSIS SSRS and TSQL projects
- Experience in database architecture design with preference in multiterabyte SQL databases of 8 TB or larger.
- Worked with TSQL coding against million row tables
- Experience with ODS data warehousing and partitioned tables
- Experience with a scripting language with preference in PowerShell
- Ability to think tactically and logically identify significant success factors and execute them effectively
- Knowledgeable of SSL Certificates
- Experience with failover and High Availability (HA) Groups
- Knowledge of SQL Security Physical logical encryption authentication roles auditing & logging
- Knowledge of IBM DB2 is a plus
- Knowledge of AWS or cloud is a plus
- Knowledge of Azure DevOps is a plus
Essential functions and responsibilities:
- Design develop and maintain large scale SQL Server Database structures
- Design develop and maintain TSQL code
- Stored Procedures functions and views
- Design develop and maintain Business Intelligence SSIS projects
- SSIS Project Deployment Preference
- Design develop and maintain SQL Reporting with SSRS
- Design develop and maintain Production troubleshooting scripts for other internal groups
- Design develop and maintain automation and deployment tools for the Operational DBAs
- PowerShell Preference
- Be a technical and research resource for the Operational DBAs
- Creation and maintenance of Database servers within Development Environment
- Work with other internal groups 3rd party groups and external customers to design needed solutions
- Provide support to QC (Quality Control) and Operational DBAs on releases of code
- Manage code and database objects with source control tool such as TFS
- Ability to write efficient well performing code
- Ability to do query performance tuning in a SQL Server environment
