Job Description

Job Title : Assistant Project Manager Heavy Civil Construction
Location : New Haven CT
Type : Fulltime direct hire

The Assistant Project Manager will support the senior project manager in leading projects from the initial bid to completion. This role involves assisting in overseeing multiple projects simultaneously ensuring each meets customer expectations and adheres to company standards. Key responsibilities include fostering customer relationships contributing to meeting client expectations assisting in managing project teams and supporting the development of team members.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in leading the project team taking initiative in managing information establishing expectations and maintaining quality and costeffectiveness throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assemble and prepare comprehensive estimates perform quantity takeoffs and evaluate bids; clarify specific information and assumptions as needed.
  • Prepare accurate and concise contracts subcontracts and purchase orders.
  • Review subcontractor submittals ensuring conformance with contract documents.
  • Identify business development opportunities follow up on bids and assist in negotiating and closing deals.
  • Manage multiple projects at various stages applying strong knowledge of construction trades and processes.
Skills & Qualification:
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering Architecture Construction Management or any related field.
  • 2 years of experience in the construction industry.
  • Experience in civil or heavy civil projects is a plus.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to collaborate with and delegate tasks to team members.
  • Proficiency in Procore Microsoft Word Excel Outlook and other tools used for communication and project management.
