Position Overview:
Recess Pediatric Therapy is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Pediatric Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team. This role involves assisting in conducting evaluations and treatment sessions at our clinic locations. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Physical Therapists (PTs) in conducting thorough evaluations to assess the physical therapy needs of pediatric clients.
- Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the PTs based on assessment results and the unique needs of each child.
- Provide direct physical therapy services under the supervision of PTs including interventions to enhance motor skills strength coordination and functional mobility.
- Collaborate with families caregivers and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care and effective treatment outcomes.
- Monitor and document progress towards therapy goals reporting adjustments needed to the supervising PT.
- Educate families and caregivers on therapeutic techniques and strategies to support the childs physical development at home.
- Participate in team meetings case conferences and continuing education opportunities to stay current with best practices in pediatric physical therapy.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited program.
- Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of California.
- Experience working with pediatric populations in a clinical setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of motor development neurological and musculoskeletal conditions and other relevant pediatric therapy techniques.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with children families and team members.
- Ability to work independently and manage a caseload efficiently.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with research and best practices in pediatric physical therapy.
