Job Description

Behaviour Mentor Secondary School Croydon

A secondary school in Croydon is looking for a Behaviour Mentor to provide support to students with social emotional and behavioural difficulties. This is a fulltime position ideal for someone passionate about helping students overcome barriers to learning and thrive in their school environment. The successful candidate will work closely with the pastoral and SEN teams offering oneonone and group support developing strategies to help students manage their behaviour and succeed academically.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide oneonone and group mentoring for students with behavioural emotional and social challenges.
  • Collaborate with the pastoral and SEN teams to develop and implement tailored behaviour plans for individual students.
  • Help students build coping strategies and resilience to overcome barriers to learning.
  • Monitor student progress maintaining accurate records and reporting on development.
  • Establish positive relationships with students promoting selfesteem emotional wellbeing and improved behaviour.

  • Experience working with students with social emotional and behavioural difficulties ideally in a school setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with students.

  • A proactive approach to managing and deescalating challenging behaviour.
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
