Job Description

Job Title: Production Team Lead

Reports To: Production Supervisor

Work Location: Pine Bluff AR

FLSA Status: Non Exempt

About the Role: The Production Team Lead oversees the daytoday operations of a specific production team within the manufacturing environment. This role ensures that production goals are met efficiently and effectively while maintaining high quality and safety standards. The Team Lead plays a pivotal role in driving LEAN manufacturing practices and fostering a culture of continuous improvement among operators.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead a team of operators giving clear instructions and support to meet daily production goals.
  • Help run daily startofshift meetings to share goals discuss challenges and review safety and quality expectations.
  • Mentor and develop team members by building their skills and giving regular feedback.
  • Create a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and open communication.

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee daily production activities ensuring work is done on time and meets quality standards.
  • Monitor production processes and equipment solving issues quickly to avoid delays and keep things running smoothly.
  • Work with the Production Supervisor and other Team Leads to ensure production activities are in sync across shifts and departments.
  • Ensure operators follow work procedures and safety rules adjusting to improve workflow.

LEAN Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement

  • Support LEAN practices like 5S reducing waste and following standardized work.
  • Take part in continuous improvement efforts finding ways to make processes better and more efficient.
  • Lead small improvement projects within your team getting operators involved and accountable.
  • Work with the Production Supervisor to review production data and use best practices to improve the process.

Quality & Compliance

  • Make sure products meet customer expectations by checking during production and addressing quality issues immediately.
  • Follow all safety regulations like ISO OSHA and company policies.
  • Keep documentation and reports accurate complete and submitted on time.
  • Be the first point of contact for operators on quality or safety issues and escalate concerns to the Production Supervisor when needed.

Resource Management

  • Help the Production Supervisor plan and allocate labor resources ensuring the team is adequately staffed and trained.
  • Adjust operator assignments during the shift to keep productivity and efficiency high.
  • Make sure the team has the materials tools and equipment needed to meet production goals.
  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for team performance quality and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • At least 35 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment with 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Solid understanding of LEAN manufacturing principles and a drive for continuous improvement.
  • Proven ability to lead coach and develop a team along with strong problemsolving and decisionmaking skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills working well with people at all company levels.
  • Basic knowledge of production management software and data analysis tools.

Working Conditions:

  • This role requires frequent standing walking and exposure to a manufacturing environment.
  • Availability to work flexible hours including evenings weekends and overtime as needed to meet production demands.
