Job Description
As a Mechanical/ Structural Designer Engineer will be an integral part of our engineering and product development team. You will be responsible for creating innovative and efficient mechanical designs for our products ensuring they meet both functional and aesthetic requirements. Your expertise will contribute to the successful realization of our projects and the continued growth of our company.
Key Responsibilities:
Conceptual Design: Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to generate creative and feasible design concepts for new products taking into consideration of factors such as functionality Design Codes Material Selection manufacturability and costeffectiveness.
CAD & 3D Modelling: Utilize industrystandard CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks AutoCAD etc.) to create detailed 2D 3D part models and assembly drawings of mechanical components and create cutting sheet metal plans.
Prototyping: Work closely with the production/prototyping team to design build and test physical prototypes of designs making necessary design adjustments based on testing results.
Materials and Manufacturing: Selection of appropriate materials and manufacturing processes while considering factors like cost durability and sustainability.
Documentation: Create comprehensive design documentation including technical drawings bill of materials (BOM) and material specifications according to job priorities.
Resource allocation & planning: Knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing processes to select and plan materials machinery and items required for production on priority.
Cost Optimization: Continuously seek opportunities to optimize design solutions to reduce production costs without compromising quality.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all designs meet relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Project Management: Manage design projects & design team adhering to timelines and budgets and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering/Structural Engineering or a related field
4 6 Years of experience in mechanical design engineering (specific years can be added based on your requirements).
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks AutoCAD).
Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles materials and manufacturing processes.
Experience with design analysis and simulation tools is a plus.
Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Team management & Leadership skills.
Ability to work in a fastpaced and innovative environment.
