Job Description

Overview

A Primary Care Physician plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive medical care to patients focusing on the coordination and management of their overall health and wellbeing. This role is essential within the healthcare organization as it serves as the primary point of contact for patients seeking medical assistance and guidance for various health concerns.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough physical examinations and obtain medical histories from patients.
  • Diagnose and treat various acute and chronic illnesses injuries and conditions.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans and provide ongoing medical care.
  • Prescribe medications and interpret diagnostic tests.
  • Counsel patients on maintaining a healthy lifestyle and disease prevention.
  • Coordinate with specialists and other healthcare professionals for comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed clinical documentation of patient encounters.
  • Adhere to medical ethical standards and follow established medical protocols.
  • Participate in continuous medical education and training programs to stay updated with medical advancements.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes and quality of care.
  • Supervise and mentor medical residents and other healthcare staff.
  • Engage in community outreach programs and health education initiatives.
  • Participate in quality improvement and practice management activities.
  • Adhere to regulatory requirements and maintain patient confidentiality.

Required qualifications

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Board certification in Internal Medicine Family Medicine or related field.
  • Valid state medical license and DEA registration.
  • Completion of a residency program in primary care or internal medicine.
  • Proven experience in providing comprehensive primary care services in a clinical setting.
  • Strong clinical skills and proficiency in medical diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced and dynamic healthcare environment.
  • Sound knowledge of medical ethics and regulatory standards.
  • Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) and clinical documentation.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Strong problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities.
  • Compassionate and patientcentered approach to patient care.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively amidst varying patient needs.
