Staff Accountant I
Overview:
The Staff Accountant I plays a crucial role in the finance and accounting department responsible for executing various accounting tasks to ensure accurate financial records and reports. They assist in maintaining the financial health of the organization by analyzing and reconciling financial information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes
- Assist with monthend and yearend financial close processes
- Prepare journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Assist in financial statement analysis and reporting
- Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for discrepancies
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes
- Support external auditors during financial audits
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company procedures
- Participate in process improvement initiatives
- Handle taxrelated tasks and filings
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field
- Understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- 12 years of experience in accounting or finance
- CPA or pursuing CPA certification (preferred)
- Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance
