Job Description

Our organization connects passionate educators with rewarding opportunities in schools.

We are currently seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team and support students in a resource room setting. The ideal candidate will work with students who have a range of learning emotional physical and developmental disabilities.

This role involves creating and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) collaborating with school staff and families and using effective teaching strategies to promote students academic and social growth.

Brief overview:

As a Special Education Teacher you will develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that address each students unique needs. Youll manage a structured and supportive classroom fostering a positive learning atmosphere. Regular assessments will help you monitor students progress and determine their specific educational needs. Collaboration is key as youll work closely with general education teachers specialists and families to ensure students receive the best support possible. Youll also adapt curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate a range of learning abilities. Maintaining detailed records of students progress and IEP goals is essential as is providing emotional and social support to promote a positive learning experience. Lastly you will engage in ongoing professional development to stay updated on the latest best practices in special education.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher or relevant role

Experience working in an education setting

A bachelors degree from an accredited university is required. Masters degree is a plus

Have an Illinois PEL with special education (LSB1) endorsement (no other certification will be accepted at this time)
