Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detailoriented Cost Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cost accounting financial analysis and budgeting. As a Senior Cost Accountant you will play a crucial role in managing and analyzing our cost structures ensuring accurate cost reporting and providing valuable insights to support strategic decisionmaking.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Analysis: Analyze and monitor costs related to production inventory and operations to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Identify and investigate variances and provide actionable recommendations.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage cost budgets and forecasts. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and perform variance analysis to support financial planning.
Cost Reporting: Prepare detailed cost reports and financial statements for management review. Ensure timely and accurate reporting of cost data.
Inventory Management: Oversee inventory accounting and valuation including the assessment of inventory reserves and obsolescence. Ensure adherence to accounting principles and company policies.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in cost accounting procedures. Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Collaboration: Work closely with other departments including operations and procurement to gather data understand cost drivers and support crossfunctional initiatives.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with internal controls accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Assist with internal and external audits as needed.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting or a related field with a proven track record of managing cost processes and providing insightful financial analysis.
Skills: Strong analytical and problemsolving skills. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. SAP Oracle) and advanced Excel skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
Communication: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
