Summary
The Electrical Specialist position performs electrical design and controls design and programming usually for multiple projects simultaneously. This position will support the needs of each project through individual phases final installation and support of customer onsite work.
Essential Job Functions
- Responsible for electrical design and programming activities to support the product line.
- Electrical mechanical and process installation and troubleshooting to support the product line which may include the use of hand tools gauges multimeters and other measurement devices.
- Interface with customers as required to promote successful project which may include technical advice and discussion with customer engineers.
- Quotation development to support sales and marketing activities.
- Training and technical assistance of others to enhance safety and their technical expertise.
- Technical interface with other professional disciplines to support product line.
- Assist electrical team in conduit routing and installation details as required to complete department projects.
- Instrument configuration and programming as required to complete projects.
- Valid drivers license for travel.
- Includes occasional travel activities to support the product line. Travel typically involves less than 25% of the normal work time but may require extended activities during certain commissioning processes.
- Ensures lessons learned applied to future efforts.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
- The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Regular inperson attendance due to necessary teamwork and personal interactive nature of this position.
Knowledge Skills Abilities
- Knowledge and experience in 3 phase power development and use.
- Knowledge and experience in the development and implementation of automated control systems
- Knowledge and experience in solid state electronic component application.
- Knowledge and experience in using P&IDs to design and program process control systems.
- PLC OIT and HMI program development experience.
- Experience with integration of wide range of process analytical equipment.
- Working knowledge of Computer Aided Design AutoCad preferred.
- Excellent communication skills both orally and written.
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage time effectively in a constantly changing environment.
- Ability to work independently or in a team.
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with individuals at all levels.
- Ability to efficiently utilize Microsoft Office.
Education and Experience
- Associate of Science in Electrical or Electronic technical field preferred. Extensive technical experience in these fields may be acceptable in lieu of the degree.
