IT Security Specialist

Overview: We are seeking a skilled and vigilant IT Security Specialist to join our team. As an IT Security Specialist you will be responsible for protecting our organizations IT infrastructure and data from cybersecurity threats. You will play a critical role in implementing security measures monitoring systems for vulnerabilities and breaches and responding to security incidents. Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Security Monitoring and Incident Response:

   • Monitor security systems logs and alerts to detect and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
   • Conduct thorough investigations of security breaches incidents and vulnerabilities.
   • Develop and implement incident response plans and procedures to mitigate risks and minimize impact.

2. Vulnerability Assessment and Management:

   • Perform regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on systems networks and applications.
   • Identify security weaknesses risks and gaps in infrastructure and recommend remediation actions.
   • Coordinate with IT teams to apply patches updates and configurations to mitigate vulnerabilities.

3. Security Controls and Compliance:

   • Implement and enforce security controls policies and procedures to protect IT systems and data.
   • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements industry standards and security frameworks (e.g. NIST ISO 27001).
   • Conduct security audits risk assessments and security awareness training for employees.

4. Security Architecture and Design:

   • Design and implement security solutions and architectures that align with business objectives and mitigate risks.
   • Evaluate and recommend security technologies tools and services to enhance our security posture.
   • Collaborate with IT architects and engineers to integrate security controls into IT infrastructure and applications.

5. Security Incident Management:

   • Lead and coordinate incident response activities including containment eradication and recovery efforts.
   • Document security incidents root cause analysis and lessons learned for continuous improvement.
   • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and management on incident status and resolution.

6. Security Awareness and Training:

   • Promote security awareness across the organization through training programs workshops and communication.
   • Educate employees on security policies procedures and best practices to foster a securityconscious culture.
   • Conduct phishing simulations and other security awareness exercises to enhance employee readiness.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Security or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
• Proven experience as an IT Security Specialist Cybersecurity Analyst or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles practices technologies and methodologies.
• Experience with security tools such as SIEM IDS/IPS firewalls antivirus and endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions.
• Familiarity with network protocols architecture and security frameworks (e.g. NIST ISO 27001).
• Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication interpersonal and teamwork skills.
