Job Description
- Collaboration: Partner with classroom teachers to support English language development across all subject areas.
- Individualized Instruction: Provide oneonone and small group lessons to address the unique needs of ELL students.
- Classroom Environment: Create and maintain a positive inclusive and safe learning atmosphere where all students can thrive.
- Behavioral Standards: Establish and maintain clear expectations for student behavior to promote a secure and effective learning environment.
- Student Assessment: Regularly evaluate student progress and adjust instructional strategies to ensure continuous language development.
- Plan and Implement Lessons: Develop and execute instructional plans for English Language Learners (ELL) ensuring they meet both school and state guidelines.
Requirements
- Valid Illinois PEL with ESL endorsement.
- Experience as an ESL Teacher or in a related teaching role.
- Prior experience working with students from diverse language and cultural backgrounds.
- Bachelor s degree from an accredited institution is required; a Master s degree in TESOL or a related field is highly preferred.
