Job Description

  • The most important function of this role is making the right staffing decisions while keeping in mind the individual goals of our consulting team members and the needs of the projects.
  • This person is responsible for effectively building and managing relationships with leadership, the operations team, and consulting staff.
  • The Resource Manager is an informal leader in Consulting Services.

    Responsibilities:
  • Work with the business to identify and define staffing needs and identify most appropriate resources to fulfill those needs:
  • Build relationships with business leaders and delivery managers to understand project needs
  • Maintain relationships with consulting staff to understand individual skill sets and career ambitions
  • Build in depth knowledge of the portfolio of resources assigned from a skills perspective as well as how they work to ensure correct resources are assigned
  • Ability to influence others without authority to drive the right staffing decisions.
  • Provide analysis and maintain metrics for the business such as availability, utilization and identify issues and trends
  • Work with Consulting Resources and Delivery to maintain the scheduled projects, availability, etc. for the portfolio of resources
  • Drive a process to ensure that skills for portfolio of resources are maintained
  • Work with leaders to adjust resource assignments based on change to timeline, additional skills required, etc.
  • Creative problem-solving skills to solve capacity challenges
  • Ability to highlight the Consultant skills so Delivery is aware of the Talent assigned to their project
  • Work with delivery and consulting leadership to develop project-specific skill requirements
  • Develop and manage capacity and demand reports for the portfolio of resources
  • Meet with leadership frequently to ensure staffing needs, utilization potential and shortages and surpluses are proactively identified across portfolios
  • Qualifications:
  • BS or BA college degree or work experience equivalent.
  • Previous role that required high degree of organization and productivity
  • Strong metrics-focus with ability to use analytics to solve problems and develop solutions
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
