ACKGROUND

Founded in 1933 at the request of Albert Einstein the International Rescue Committee is an international humanitarian organsiation with operations in over 40 countries worldwide. Our mission is to help people affected by conflict or disaster to survive recover and rebuild their lives.

The IRC global network which has its headquarters in New York and is on the ground in more than 40 countries providing emergency relief relocating refugees and rebuilding lives in the wake of disaster. Through over 20 regional offices in cities across the United States the IRC also helps refugees resettle in the US and become selfsufficient.

IRC Sverige was established in 2019 to raise private funds and build presence in Sweden and is a registered NGO in Sweden. It now consists of 18 staff and a team of face to face marketeers. Over the next five years the plan is to augment this presence by increasing mass market fundraising achieve IRC s policy ambitions in the Nordics more effectively maximizing funding from Sida and cultivate relationships with governmental and high value private donors across the Nordic region.

IRC Sweden is part of IRC in Europe which employs over 500 staff across the UK Germany Belgium Switzerland and Sweden.
