Summary: The Pharmacy Technician supports pharmacists in providing safe and efficient pharmacy services including prescription preparation claims processing and medication delivery. Responsibilities:
- Enter and process new and refill prescription orders maintaining productivity and quality standards.
- Accurately fill patient orders verify quantities and prepare prescription labels.
- Forward orders to the pharmacist for verification and clarification.
- Enter data into the pharmacy computer system to generate appropriate paperwork.
- Select appropriate supplies based on medication requirements and patient needs.
- Contact patients caregivers and prescribers for refill authorization and order clarification.
- Adjudicate pharmacy claims and resolve claim rejections.
- Assist with product purchasing inventory and equipment management.
- Prepare orders for shipment by selecting packing materials and generating shipping labels.
- Clean dispensing area and replenish workstation supplies before the end of each shift.
- Provide excellent customer service and perform additional pharmacyrelated duties as assigned.
Skills/Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 35 years of pharmacy experience.
- Understanding of drug terminology and specialty pharmacy services.
- Ability to perform pharmaceutical calculations for correct medication doses.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient and proprietary information.
- Compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards.
- Participate in quality assurance and medicationrelated incident reporting.
