Job Description
Seeking a Project Manager for a global manufacturing company based in Melville NY.
The ideal candidate is detailed orientated multitasking and has the ability to manage under strict deadlines. Must have good technical skills is computer savvy and presents well with client interactions. Industry background in retail merchandising or apparel preferred. Bachelors degree in Engineering preferred and EPICOR knowledge a plus.
What you will do:
Manage and coordinate multiple projects to ensure they are completed on time and on budget.
Scheduling & Planning
Consistently "value engineers" to reduce cost
Demonstrates ability to determine whether to vacuum form injection mold or fabricate when estimating
Project Management
Create a realistic time line for the project following customer demands
Maintain timeline throughout the project for consistent followup with engineering for drawings and type safety.
Reviews engineer drawings and compares to estimate prior to sending to customer
Coordinates prototype including ordering of any specific materials needed
Ensures prototype are made to specifications
Launches detailed and accurate BOM
Considers packaging as soon as prototype if approved
Communication & Follow up
Effectively communicates status of project at any given point or phase of the project
Followsup with inhouse purchasing to ensure timely arrival of materials needed communicates same to team.
Followsup with clients to assure timely receipt of any/all materials provided directly to the company from the client i.e. photos graphics factices
Effectively coordinates shipping with customers
Quality Control
Work with production to set QA/QC standards in production prior to the project reaching the assembly line
Consistently monitors production quality and demonstrates ability to identify quality issues during production
Sales Support / Customer Support
Responds to customer inquires in a timely manner
Communicates status of project with customer through all phases when requested
Requirements
- Has knowledge of different types of manufacturing techniques for consideration during estimates i.e. decorations machining
- Knowledge of materials i.e. acrylics wood & metal
- Is highly organized and maintains orderly work flow
- Ability to prioritize jobs/work based on changing timelines incoming project
- Effectively forecasts changes in schedule depending on utilization of production facilities
