About the Job Opportunity:

As this is a remote job we would also expect the candidate to have a reliable

highspeed internet connection a quiet workspace and be able to work in the

timezone overlapping with the teams in the company.

Your key responsibilities:

Maintain and expand existing embedded Linux platforms e.g. integrate new

software packages update existing software packages apply patches to kernel

Improve performance of the system e.g. boot time battery consumption WiFi

performance

Participate in design decisions including suggestions for the next generation of

products and their congurations

Troubleshoot issues reported by customers and colleagues

What we look for:

35 years of experience with Linux kernel conguration and patching

Experience building a custom Linux distro with buildroot or Yocto

Experience in maximizing performance of resource constrained systems

Strong analytical and debugging skills

Must have technical skills:

MUST: Experience in Javascript or any modernday JS frameworks 4 years

Experience NodeJSMongoDB or any other NoSQL DB 4 years

Experience on building RESTful services and MVC patterns 4 years

You get bonus point for:

Experience with design and programming in C or C

Experience with wireless communication networks e.g. 802.11 mesh

Experience on system performance and power measurements and optimisation

C/C multithreaded multiprocess applications

Expertise in (Shell Bash) scripting!

Understanding of systematic problem solving and excellent debugging skills

Experience working with Iridium and satellite communication technology is a

big plus

Experience working with the open source community is a big plus

Excellent and demonstrable written and oral communication skills

Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and remote environment
