- Required soft skills for this position due to cancer patient population:
- Friendly presence patient/customer focused empathetic.
- Patient Service Associate for Penn Medicine Radnor Radiation Oncology would be responsible for all but not limited to the following tasks:
- Greet and checkin all treatment patients and simulations on daily Pennchart schedule.
- Manage and handle all patient phone calls and inquiries and route appropriate phone calls to nursing/physicians/etc via Epic telephone encounter.
- Checks front office and nurse office voicemails throughout the day
- Coordinate all patient appointments new patient visits follow ups inspection visits OTVs.
- Reschedule patient appointments if needed (example: physician vacation time providing coverage to other Rad Onc locations)
- Conducts record retrieval for both new patients and return patients who complete scans outside of Penn Medicine
- Performs operational scanning.
- Check faxes throughout the day.
- Places food orders for weekly chart rounds lunches and monthly staff meetings
- Picks up mail every morning and handles all deliveries going into and sent by the practice.
- Sends End of Treatment Letters in PennChart.
Training required prior to starting assignment:
PennChart (Penns EMR) Schedgistration training which is 4 days 8 hours per day total of 32 hours. Live virtual instruction.
NOTE the first 12 hours are not billable.
