Summary
The individual in this role plays a crucial role in the companys financial health and success. The individual in this role supports the goals and objectives of the Company and Finance department and oversees all financial activities ensuring compliance and providing strategic financial guidance to the leadership team. This individuals contributions directly impact decisionmaking processes and longterm sustainability.
Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor a small but rapidly growing finance team.
- Manage all accounting operations including Billing A/R A/P GL Cost Accounting Inventory Accounting Government Accounting and Revenue Recognition.
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
- Support budget and forecasting activities.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance.
- Develop and maintain internal control and effective accounting system.
- Coordinate the annual audit process.
- Oversee tax and compliance activities.
- Work closely with the CFO to support overall department goals and objectives.
- Support grant submissions/ proposals
Qualifications
- BS/MS degree in Accounting or Finance. Advanced degree and/or CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 810 years experience in a financial management role ideally with earlystage companies. Prior manufacturing/hardware experience is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial regulations.
- Experience with financial reporting and budgeting software.
- Experience implementing systems (payroll ERP other financerelated software programs).
- Experience establishing and refining financerelated policies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience supporting finance responsibilities related to international entities.
- Experience with grant proposal submissions and grantrelated financial responsibilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced environment.
- Detailoriented with strong analytical skills.
- Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
