Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detailoriented Junior Instrument Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of experience in instrumentation design and implementation for industrial projects such as those in the Power water oil & gas petrochemical and manufacturing sectors. This role involves supporting senior engineers in the preparation of design documents performing field surveys and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and preparation of instrumentation design documents including P&IDs loop diagrams wiring diagrams and control schematics.
- Contribute to the design of instrument layouts control room layouts and installation details using AutoCAD SmartPlant or similar CAD software.
- Provide technical support during the installation commissioning and startup phases of instrumentation systems.
- Conduct field surveys and inspections to gather data verify design specifications and assist in troubleshooting issues.
- Work closely with senior engineers project teams and other discipline designers to ensure accurate and timely project execution.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to obtain technical information and ensure compatibility with design specifications.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards codes and regulations (e.g. ISA IEC ANSI NEC).
- Participate in design reviews and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Prepare and maintain instrument data sheets specifications procurement documents and material takeoffs under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Update and manage instrumentation databases and ensure proper documentation and recordkeeping.
Requirements
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
- Basic understanding of PLCs DCS SCADA systems and HMI design.
- Knowledge of instrumentation and control principles process control systems and field instrumentation.
- Strong problemsolving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Officebased position with occasional site visits required.
- May require occasional travel to project sites or client meetings.
Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software. Basic understanding of PLCs, DCS, SCADA systems, and HMI design. Knowledge of instrumentation and control principles, process control systems, and field instrumentation.
