Summer Tutor for Pre-K All Subjects and 5th Grade Math

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Summer Tutor to join our team for the summer session. The tutor will be responsible for teaching all subjects to PreK students and providing specialized instruction in Math to 5thgrade students. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education a strong understanding of early childhood and elementary math concepts and the ability to create an engaging learning environment.

• MUST BE eligible to work in the United States of America and have a valid Social Security Number; Note: We do not sponsor visas at this time
  

• MUST BE Committed to tutoring for the duration of the assignment with a possibility of extension
  

• MUST Be able to pass a background check
  

• Great interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt and relate to students from diverse backgrounds
  

• MUST HAVE a selfless commitment to making a difference in students lives
  

• Must be willing to travel to Houstom Texas zip code 77021 to tutor in person.
  

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the needs of PreK students across all subjects.
  
• Provide targeted instruction in Math for a 5thgrade student ensuring he/she grasps essential concepts and skills.
  
• Create a positive and stimulating classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love of learning.
  
• Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching methods accordingly to meet individual learning needs.
  
• Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding student progress and any concerns.
  
• Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Education or a related field (or currently enrolled in a degree program).
  
• Experience working with PreK and elementaryaged children preferably in a teaching or tutoring role.
  
• Strong knowledge of early childhood education and 5thgrade math curriculum.
  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  
• Patience creativity and a passion for teaching young children.
  
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  
• Must be available to work on Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:00 AM to 12:45 PM during the summer months.
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Teaching certification or credentials in early childhood or elementary education.
  
• Experience with curriculum development and lesson planning.
  
• Familiarity with educational technology and online learning tools.

Requirements

SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE:

• A college student with at least 60 hours of credit hours
  

• A college graduate (Bachelor s Master s Doctoral degree holder)
  

• A certified teacher with SBEC or other teacher state licensure certification
  

• A retired teacher with SBEC or other teacher state licensure certification
  

• Skilled in Elementary Math
