Civil Engineering Project Lead

Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team. This Project Lead role plays a key role in all aspects of project delivery from client interaction and design development to project management and administration. You will be responsible for overseeing a team of engineers ensuring project quality budget adherence and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design process for civil engineering projects exceeding client expectations.
- Manage client relationships spearheading project approvals with public agencies.
- Generate leads and actively pursue new business opportunities.
- Handle project administration tasks including invoicing budgeting proposals change orders and timecard approvals.
- Oversee the design teams workflow collaborating with the Senior Project Manager.
- Ensure the quality and costeffectiveness of designs incorporating Full Circle Thinking and adhering to agency and client standards.
- Supervise interaction with agencies processing plans for approval and resolving design issues.
- Coordinate with external consultants (geotechnical landscape etc.) and internal departments.
- Conduct site investigations and research for proposals designs and marketing materials.
- Oversee site visits during construction ensuring plan compliance resolving discrepancies and responding to RFIs.
- Forecast workload and communicate resource needs to the Senior Project Manager.
- Conduct staff reviews and provide coaching/training.
- Manage project budgets billing and change orders.
- Champion continuous improvement by proposing and implementing new ideas aligned with Full Circle Thinking.
- Represent FEI in client and agency meetings.
- Attend professional development seminars and share key learnings.
- Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- In collaboration with senior leadership supervise 15 engineers within the Engineering Team.
- Conduct interviews train employees plan and assign work appraise performance and address employee concerns.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 10 years of civil engineering design experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a lead designer overseeing project workflow and mentoring a team.
- Strong problemsolving decisionmaking communication and teambuilding skills.
- Ability to manage projects from inception to completion.
- EIT certification required. PE license or ability to obtain PE license within two years preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D a plus.
Physical Demands:
- The ability to sit use hands for manipulation and reaching stand walk and lift up to 10 pounds.
- Clear vision color vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

- The work environment is typically quiet with occasional exposure to outdoor conditions.
