Job Details
- Shift: Days 810 hours Monday to Friday 40hrs/week
- Work Location: Onsite; Palo Alto CA
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conducting thorough assessments of patients urological conditions including urinary tract infections kidney stones urinary incontinence and prostate issues. They gather patient history perform physical examinations and order diagnostic tests such as urinalysis ultrasound and cystoscopy to aid in diagnosis.
- Collaborating with urologists and other healthcare team members to develop individualized treatment plans for patients. This may involve medication management lifestyle modifications catheterization or surgical interventions.
- Administering medications as prescribed by healthcare providers and monitoring their effectiveness and side effects.
- Managing urinary catheters by inserting maintaining and removing them as necessary. Clinical nurses ensure proper catheter placement prevent infections and educate patients on catheter care techniques.
- Providing wound care for patients who have undergone urological surgeries or procedures. This involves assessing wounds changing dressings monitoring for signs of infection and promoting healing.
- Regularly monitoring patients progress throughout the treatment process assessing for any changes or complications and adjusting care plans accordingly. They document patient responses to treatment and communicate updates to the healthcare team.
- Offering emotional support and counseling to patients coping with urological conditions particularly those facing chronic illnesses or undergoing major surgeries.
Requirements
Education Qualifications
- Bachelor s Degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited academic institution. (preferred)
Licenses and Certifications
- RN Registered Nurse
- BLS Basic Life Support
Experience
- Previous clinical experience as a registered nurse is typically required
