As an Expert Trainee in Contemporary Art you will be closely involved with evaluating and arranging lots submitted by our artists in those sections. You will be responsible for screening efficiently and creating attractive auctions every week supporting your team of Experts in operational processes. Catawiki strives to keep user transactions as transparent and fair as possible and youll learn from the expertise and experience of our experts and you will play an important role in maintaining this standard; youll know better than anyone what items are of interest to our users.
You will review lot titles descriptions lot pictures authenticity and provide users with an estimated value based on this information. If you need to reject a submission you do so in a professional and courteous manner. Your efforts result in exceptional auctions that bidders will find irresistible.
Finally youll also be working together with our sales team and proactively assist the team of experts in commercial operations like looking for new leads entering new leads into the system onboarding potential artists in core markets including but not limited to France in which you will play a major role.
The team is dynamic and therefore youll need to adapt fast move fast on decision making with rational databased facts. Youll communicate efficiently and be a team player within your team and other stakeholders.

We have sensational offices in Amsterdam Groningen Paris and our newest office in Lisbon. Most of our employees are within commutable distance of one of our office locations and enjoy a hybrid work model. This means we expect you to be in the office 2 out of 5 days roughly 40% of your working time to collaborate and connect with each other. The exception is of course if the job description specifically states that the role is 100% remote as some experts and sales positions are.
