Our client a high growth CPG is seeking a Corporate Controller. This position is responsible for overseeing and managing the accounting operations including periodic financial reports maintaining a satisfactory system of accounting records and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets that are designed to mitigate risk enhance the accuracy of financial results and ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company policies. As a strong communicator you will strengthen the accounting team by improving our operational efficiency and aiding in our continued growth.
Objectives of this Role
- Provide comprehensive financial updates to the Executive Team by evaluating analyzing monitoring and reporting appropriate data points
- Develop implement and maintain financial controls and guidelines
- Achieve budgeting goals with proper scheduling analysis and corrective action
- Help develop and support short and longterm operational strategies
- Assist in evaluating and migrating to a new ERP system
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
- Maintain internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue costs and both team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures
- In conjunction with the CFO establish financial and operating benchmarks budgets program monitoring and reporting standards on a biweekly monthly and annual basis
- Implement consistent accounting policies practices and procedures across all programs upholding federal state and local legal standards by remaining knowledgeable about existing new and future legislation
- Support accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity
- Manage payroll and bank reconciliations
- In cooperation with Accounts Payable Manager ensure all reasonable discounts are taken for accounts payable and paid in a timely manner.
- In cooperation with Accounts Receivable Manager ensure timely collection from accounts and on debts.
- Coordinate information for external auditors for annual audits
- Provide reporting support and perform special projects as needed.
- Comply with local state and federal reporting requirements and tax filing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in business accounting or related field
- 7 years proven accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Professional accounting certification including CMA CGA or CA
- Working knowledge of finance law and regulatory standards (GAAP)
- Strong understanding of treasury management and banking processes
- Experience with multicurrency transactions and foreign jurisdictions
- CPA highly preferred
- Experience working in the Food Industry a plus
