Job Details
- Shift: Days 10 hours Rotating MondayFriday 40hrs/week
- Work Location: Onsite; Palo Alto CA
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for cardiovascular procedures which may include explaining the procedure obtaining patient consent and ensuring the patient is physically and mentally prepared.
- Set up and operate various diagnostic and monitoring equipment used during cardiovascular procedures. This may include electrocardiography (ECG/EKG) echocardiography stress testing equipment Holter monitors and cardiac catheterization equipment.
- Monitor patients vital signs electrocardiograms and other physiological parameters. They accurately record and document findings ensuring that patient data is properly captured for analysis and interpretation by physicians.
- Assist cardiologists electrophysiologists and other healthcare providers during diagnostic and interventional procedures. This may involve handing instruments operating imaging equipment and providing support to ensure the procedure progresses smoothly.
- Provide patient education on cardiovascular conditions diagnostic procedures and treatment options. This may include explaining test results discussing lifestyle changes and answering patient questions to promote understanding and compliance with medical recommendations.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and quality assurance standards to ensure patient safety and accurate test results. They maintain cleanliness and sterility of equipment and workspaces and participate in quality improvement initiatives as required.
- Assist in analyzing test results and preparing reports for physician review. This involves accurately interpreting data identifying abnormalities and flagging any issues that may require further investigation or intervention.
- Updated on the latest advances in cardiovascular technology procedures and equipment through continuing education and professional development activities.
Requirements
Education
- Associate Degree. Bachelors degree preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
- BLS Basic Life Support
- ACLS Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support.
One of the following certifications are required at the time of hire
- RCIS Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Certification or
- RCES Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist Certification or
- IBHRE International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners Certification
- CEPS Certified Electrophysiology Specialist
Experience
- Minimum One (1) to three (3) years of Cath Angio LabEP work related experience
