Job Description

Summary:


Trendsetter Engineering provides the Subsea Oil and Gas Industry with custom designed solutions for production intervention capping and containment. To meet the needs of our customers Trendsetter is hiring an experienced Project Engineer to support our Aftermarket services with a focus on subsea connectors and subsea production system installation support.


The Project Engineer Aftermarket is a key role in the Services Engineering organization supporting both external Client projects as well as acting as the internal liaison with the Production and Connector Engineering team to support the Connector product line after sale. As such this individual should have a practical knowledge of both connector design and operation as well as experience in field operations of subsea connectors.


This position will be primarily based from the Trendsetter office located in Houston TX but may require occasional travel in support of field operations.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for dayto day management of Aftermarket Connector Scopes to ensure successful delivery of Service projects utilizing Trendsetter connector products.
  • Review client specifications and support technical scope of work ensuring both client international standards and Trendsetter requirements are accommodated.
  • Originates or checks technical documentation accepting personal responsibility for its adequacy.
  • Ensures technical deliverables are consistent to maintain contractual and code compliance.
  • Gain a full understanding of Trendsetter Connectors product line. Including connectors pressure caps and associated ROV tooling.
  • Lead service department engineer for the Trendsetter Connectors product line. Act as the technical point of contact for delivered connection systems.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers Technicians and other project stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Author and approve assembly testing and field operating documentation for Rentals & Aftermarket projects. Compile rig books to be used on the project.
  • Manage operating manuals repairs and maintenance for department assets.
  • Manage handovers of equipment between Trendsetter Manufacturing team and Services departments. Clearly communicate design requirements for various project scopes.
  • Coordination of support with third party companies and Trendsetter departments as needed.
  • Support Intervention projects in design FEA and procedures as required.
  • Provide input for the continued improvement of existing processes and assets. Contribute to the development of new techniques and technology in support of subsea operations.
  • Perform engineering analysis including FEA for structural lifting pressure containing and hydraulic design purposes.
  • Provide leadership and technical expertise for Rentals and Services in areas including equipment design assembly testing repair and maintenance.
  • Generate 3D models in support of Rentals & Aftermarket projects.
  • Generate detailed multiview manufacturing drawings including detail such as weld call outs bearing fits finishes materials of construction coatings and quality requirements.
  • Lead technical calls and give presentations to customers and colleagues as required. Effectively answer questions regarding Trendsetter equipment.
  • Must conform to all employment policies and procedures of Trendsetter Engineering Inc.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:


Education:

  • Bachelor s Degree in Engineering related field.


Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in engineering design and approval processes subsea equipment design and/or offshore installation operations
  • Knowledge of subsea structure such as ILT PLET Manifold foundation (integrated and preinstalled mudmat) and suction pile is preferable.
  • Field operational experience for PLET Manifold and Tree installations a strong plus.
  • Strong knowledge of Solid Mechanics and Strength of Materials.
  • Good knowledge of code and standards such as API DNVGL ISO especially DVNGLRPC208.
  • Passion for creating innovative highquality products and supporting safe and efficient field operations
  • Proficient in SolidWorks and modeling software
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Systems (Word Excel MS Project)
  • Knowledgeable in AutoCAD 2D and Mathcad software

Qualifications: Education: Engineering Degree from an EAC/ABET accredited program. E.I.T. Certification or passed FE exam preferred Experience and Skills: o Minimum of 5 years experience in engineering design and approval processes o Minimum of 2 years experience in subsea equipment design o Proficient in SolidWorks and ANSYS modeling software o Proficient with Microsoft Office Systems (Word, Excel, MS Project) Knowledgeable in AutoCAD 2D and Mathcad software Personal Attributes: Strong leadership and organizational skills Good communication & presentation skills, both written and oral Ability to adapt to change, when required due to the rapid response nature of business Work autonomously as well as under direction Handle multiple projects and deadlines with changing priorities
