Job Summary:

As a Payroll Specialist you will play a pivotal role in planning organizing and controlling all aspects of the payroll function. From administrative duties to processing operations and accounting entries your attention to detail and expertise in payroll regulations will be instrumental in ensuring accurate and efficient payroll processing.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Canadian payroll and submit timely for processing.
  • Assist with T4s and yearend processes ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Process US multistate weekly/biweekly payroll accurately and in accordance with applicable laws.
  • Conduct pre and post payroll audits to guarantee accurate payments and internal control compliance.
  • Manage wage garnishments and handle compensation continuation payments.
  • Continuously review and analyze current payroll processes recommending improvements and documenting best practices.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to support payroll audits.
  • Build strong partnerships with customers by delivering superior service.
  • Contribute to payrollrelated projects as required.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the manager.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll regulations is essential.
  • Familiarity with multistate tax regulations and US payroll laws is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and work effectively with diverse individuals.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Superior timemanagement abilities to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Detailoriented mindset with exceptional organizational problemsolving and analytical skills.
  • Resultsdriven with a track record of goal achievement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience using payroll software such as ADP or Ceridian is a plus.
  • High level of discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Selfmotivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
