Job Description

MRB Document Controller

In this role you will produce Manufacturing Record Books (MRB) in accordance with Client and Trendsetter Engineering standard requirements. You will liaise and communicate with team and internal & external Clients. The MRB s will need to be produced based on the current book build process. In addition this role would require assisting the document control team for project formal client interfacing and transmittals.


Primary roles and responsibilities will be the following:

  • Compiling Databook packages in line with QMS (quality management requirements).
  • Ensuring the structure quality of presentation and legibility is satisfactory and in accordance with BH standard and Customer requirements.
  • Maintaining all approved records accurately using the agreed storage system inline with BH and Customer document retention policies.
  • Liaising with Production Planning Project Teams and Customer.
  • Use correct Quality tools to raise concerns/submit continuous improvement ideas.
  • Have strong HSE work ethic.
  • Have High awareness of the safety culture of the business.

Additional knowledge and understanding of the below Doc Control functions would be beneficial.

  • Collects maintain and distribute all documents necessary to help control processes that ensure conformance to customer and industry requirements.
  • Coordinate with vendor and client document control departments to align contractually agreed requirements.
  • Manages the operation of the document control libraries on SharePoint and other MS office applications that ensures fast retrieval of documents.
  • Timely distribution of latest revision level documentation to all appropriate users and ensure that obsolete documentation is removed from distribution.
  • Process and track incoming and outgoing transmittals of project documentation.
  • Monitors workflows for the project team
  • Packages electronic documents for clients vendors and internal needs.
  • Provide status reports to project and functional department management of document control progress.
  • Perform clerical typing duties to generate documents as necessary.


To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have good oral and written communication skills.
  • Have excellent attention to detail.
  • Have proficient computer skills and familiarity with basic software.
  • Have confident Microsoft office applications including MS Word MS Excel and Adobe Acrobat Writer.
  • Have experience in a Manufacturing or Quality environment desired but not essential.
  • Have knowledge of subsea manufacturing is desirable but not essential.
  • Have ability to work under pressure with conflicting priorities.
  • Have ability to interface with different functions within the business.


Qualifications: Education: Engineering Degree from an EAC/ABET accredited program. E.I.T. Certification or passed FE exam preferred Experience and Skills: o Minimum of 5 years experience in engineering design and approval processes o Minimum of 2 years experience in subsea equipment design o Proficient in SolidWorks and ANSYS modeling software o Proficient with Microsoft Office Systems (Word, Excel, MS Project) Knowledgeable in AutoCAD 2D and Mathcad software Personal Attributes: Strong leadership and organizational skills Good communication & presentation skills, both written and oral Ability to adapt to change, when required due to the rapid response nature of business Work autonomously as well as under direction Handle multiple projects and deadlines with changing priorities
