Job Description

Main job goals

  • The Quality & HSE Manager will provide leadership and direction to all functions with a focus on promoting a healthy and safe work environment in addition to promoting, educating and engaging employees at all levels to actively participate and adhere to ISO (9001, 14001 and 45001) related activities
  • This position is responsible for ensuring adherence to federal, state and local Health, Safety & Environmental regulations in addition to ensuring the appropriate quality systems and processes are in place to facilitate a customer-focused team
Main tasks / responsibilities

  • Collaborate with others to develop and /or continuously improve processes and procedures for the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Initiate problem solving, remediation and corrective action as appropriate, including the completion of all supporting documentation
  • Support complaint investigations and product related quality issues as well as support other functions of the QMS as needed
  • Participate in cross functional teams to discuss and support quality document updates related to the Integrated Management System (IMS)
  • Ensures the effectiveness of the quality, environment and safety systems
  • Track, report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality, environmental and safety and establish plans to consistently improve
  • Participate in Quality and Compliance Vendor Management activities including audits and site-visits as needed
  • Responsible for maintenance of OSHA 300 log, reporting information to State, Federal and local agencies as required
  • Develop, initiate, and maintain Health & Safety programs in all facilities to minimize or eliminate injuries, accidents, and workers compensation cost, including improvement of training programs and systems
  • Drive a safety conscious work environment by inspiring others to have a high sense of priority for health, safety, and environment compliance and to ensure that safety issues are addressed accordingly
  • Maintain audit safety reports (e.g. Housekeeping( 5S), Job Safety Analysis (J.S.A), Fork Trucks, Crane, Safety Work Orders, etc)
  • Performs Accident Investigations with root cause analysis and effective corrective actions
  • Coordinate / provide annual safety training and annual emergency response and evacuation drills
  • Administer Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) programs and review and evaluate new safety equipment and safety devices
  • Update and maintenance of all hazardous waste manifests and information relative to hazardous waste generation
  • Organize Gage Repeatability & Reproducibility (Gage R&R) and Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) calibrations
  • Utilize continuous improvement tools (Corrective Actions and Risk Assessments) to drive world class excellence throughout the organization
  • Lead in maintaining ISO Certifications
  • Train internal auditors and perform internal audits to the ISO 9001:2015 Standard requirements
  • Adhere to all safety policies procedures and safe work practices
  • Support Lean practices and concepts (Value, Value Stream, Flow, Pull and Perfection)
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Education, Professional (skills) And Experience

  • Bachelor s Degree in Engineering, Industrial Safety/Hygiene, or related field
  • 5-7 years of experience in Quality and Safety management (Manufacturing Environment)
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, experience leading a team and achieving results
  • Manufacturing experience: experience with equipment or automation preferred
  • Certified Lead Auditor for ISO 9001
  • Training and / or experience with OSHA compliance and ISO quality and environmental standards/requirements
  • Proficiency in German or Spanish is a plus (Not required)
  • All applicable OSHA training
  • CPR / First Aid Certified First responder experience

  • Thorough knowledge of statistical and analytical problem-solving capabilities
  • Considerable knowledge of supervisory principles and leadership techniques
  • Capable of responding to emergency situations in a calm and professional manner

  • Professional and positive approach, self-motivated, strong relationship building skills and team player
  • Ability to build personal relationships and facilitate team success
