Job Description

Certified Medical Assistant:Please only submit candidates that area aware of their submission to our facility. Please do not allow candidates to contact facility. Traveler must have permanent address outside of radius rule of 75 miles. Time off requests must be disclosed with initial submission to be considered for approval; time off requested after the acceptance date will not be approved. 13 weeks assignment and a minimum one (1) year(s) of experience. Must be a team player, flexible and accustomed to fast paced environment. Must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment.BLS certification required. BLS must be completed through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross.When submitting candidates include at least two references (one must be from current manager), a resume, and completed skills checklist/competency assessment.Shifts may fluctuate to fulfill department staffing needs. Will be expected to float between departments to fill staffing needs. On call, weekends and holidays may be required. Travelers are first to float within facility and to alternate locations within 20 miles of permanent assigned location. Traveling pairs are not guaranteed same schedules or same shifts.Orientation is the first week of the contract, not to exceed 40 total hours, and includes EPIC training. Scrubs required and provided by the facility.This is an 8-hour Day shift position. **Certifications to be required in Medefis for job posting: CMA, CCMA or RMA. Candidates must have an active certification. Duties will include, but not limited to: Monitors patients and collects information for documentation in the patient record. Posts laboratory and other tests results. Transports patients and documents action on patient record. Collects and records vital signs, weights, and other patient data in patient record. Administers oxygen under the direction of a licensed Nurse. Assists clinicians and providers with sterile procedures. Documents all care provided in the appropriate place in the patient record Removes peripheral, intravenous therapy lines and urethral tubes. Operates patient monitoring systems specific to unit needs (such as, cardiac, and fetal heart monitoring). Insures cleanliness of nutrition areas and general unit. Cleans and stores equipment. Empties trash, linen bags, and sharps containers. Stocks medical supplies, linens, and paper goods. Performs basic clerical duties such as answering phones, taking messages, filing, and copying. Organizes care in a manner that contributes to the overall quality of the team. Performs other functions as required.
