Data Engineer (all genders)

Your Responsibilities

We are an independent team of technical diverse engineers and analysts taking care of the data platform at FRIDAY.
Our mission is to bring data & statistics to FRIDAY's products and processes which includes data ingestion, analysis and software development.

For instance, we are connecting a lot of different data sources and analyze data using statistical models in order to support our pricing team in designing competitive insurance tariffs.
Your first task could include an extension of this product. You would work hand-in-hand with our data analysts and scientist in order to improve statistical models that were developed by them,
add more data sources, improve the user interface and the overall architecture.

Ideally, you would also be involved in planning infrastructure and developing code that supports those models.

Our Tech Stack
Python powers most of our microservices which are deployed to Kubernetes.
We prefer quality over high output:

• All code is committed to Git.
• We use GitLab CI and manage our infrastructure in Terraform.
• Our services are running on AWS exclusively.
• Data processing and business logic happens mostly in PrestoDB and Spark; workflow orchestration is done by Airflow.

Your ideal background and skillset

• You have +3 years of relevant work experience in the field of data engineering
• You are curious and always question status quo.
• You have a passion and the skills required to ship high quality software.
• You like experimenting with cutting-edge technologies.
• You like to share and spread your knowledge.
• You are fluent in English
