Be the focal point in relation to all BD deals in MENA as well as other 3rd party agreements. The Tax Counsel Associate Director should ensure that all these external arrangements are in line with the tax strategy of the Group and should ensure the limitation of tax leakage by working with various internal stakeholders on building tax efficient operating structures.
To provide tax advice to the Group’s internal functions (business development, finance, legal etc) on the tax implications and costs associated with intragroup and third-party deals for various operational projects from a tax perspective.
He/she is also responsible to put in place, revise and maintain all intercompany agreements with a focus on, but not limited to, intra-MENA’s entities and between the MENA’s entities with other locations such as Europe, UK and the US
For some selected countries, takes the lead on specific structuring projects to ensure compliance of tax matters is followed through correctly minimizing tax leakage and improving the process to manage tax compliance.
For some selected countries, have oversight of the operational needs of international audits and related documentation which may change from time to time in coordination with the wider tax group and as well as regional CFOs
To assist the Global Head of Tax and the wider Group Tax teams in the drafting and preparation of tax strategies, proposals and presentations to the Board of Directors and the Group’s Executive Committee.
