Job Summary:
Modeling of electrical utility distribution systems as part of load flow studies & short-circuit fault studies.
Protection device coordination studies and development of protective device setting schemes for electrical utility distribution networks.
The design and implementation of DA and CVR schemes throughout PSO's service territory. This includes system modeling, coordination studies, and follow-through of coordinating the installation of equipment and services to support DA and CVR.
Investigation of customer power quality issues & development of customized solutions to rectify the issues.
Development of construction drawings, procurement and construction specifications, and cost estimates for capital projects.
Project management of electrical distribution system projects for CVR and DA large-scale projects which includes staffing, scope, cost, schedule, and risk management.
Management of third-party vendors, consultants, contract engineering firms, and contract construction crews.
Programming of field equipment for system optimization.
Field checkout and start-up of new facilities.
Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Possesses the experience and knowledge to make some technical decisions based on calculated risks without management review.
Makes decisions affecting long range plans and goals based on analysis of highly uncertain input and outcomes.
Visualizes long-term results.
Makes decisions where differences of opinion are likely to exist.
Makes decisions that have an impact across organizational boundaries.
Exhibits advanced level proficiency plus advanced knowledge of a specialized technical area that enables the engineer to serve as a resource for the company in an area such as system production, underground systems, extensive control systems, thermo-hydraulic control systems, distribution standards, fossil or nuclear plant operations, etc.
