Overview:
The CAD Design Engineer plays a critical role in the organization by creating detailed designs and technical drawings using computeraided design (CAD) software. This individual will be responsible for collaborating with crossfunctional teams to develop and modify design concepts ensuring compliance with industry standards and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and modify CAD models and technical drawings based on project requirements
- Collaborate with engineering teams to understand design specifications and constraints
- Conduct design reviews and make necessary adjustments based on feedback
- Ensure all designs adhere to industry standards and safety regulations
- Provide support for prototype development and testing
- Participate in design validation activities and identify areas for improvement
- Contribute to design documentation and technical reports
- Resolve designrelated issues and communicate with stakeholders as needed
- Stay updated on CAD software advancements and best practices
- Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturing teams to optimize designs for production
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for design processes and workflows
- Participate in crossfunctional meetings and provide technical expertise
- Collaborate with project management teams to meet design milestones and project deadlines
- Ensure adherence to quality assurance and control measures throughout the design process
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Industrial Design or related field
- Proven experience in CAD design and drafting
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD SolidWorks or CATIA
- Strong understanding of technical drawings and GD&T principles
- Ability to interpret and apply engineering specifications and standards
- Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials
- Experience in design validation and testing
- Familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems
- Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards
