Senior Network Engineer

Primary Responsibilities:

• Offer technical expertise and support for integrating and consolidating networks across different systems environments.
  

• Create and assess technical plans for integrated solutions, including tasks, milestones, schedules, and critical steps required for successful outcomes.
  

• Identify and resolve technical issues related to network hardware and system installation and upgrades.
  

• Engage with customers, vendors, and technical personnel to analyze both business and technical requirements, such as establishing new network connections.
  

• Develop and document technical presentations, engineering standards, standard procedures, guidance documents, status reports, and present them to senior leadership.
  

• Contribute to the development of network architecture, engineering designs, and modifications.
  

• Assist in evaluating existing and emerging technologies by conducting technical assessments and providing recommendations.
  

• Collaborate with key partners in various technology areas to prevent conflicts, spot innovation opportunities, and improve operational efficiency.
  

• Maintain communication with customers on matters of significant importance to the organization.
  

• Successfully complete individual projects and tasks.
  

Requirements

• Bachelors degree with extensive experience (12-15 years) or Masters degree with significant experience (10-13 years) in a relevant field.
  

• Ability to convey technical concepts effectively to non-technical individuals.
  

• Strong communication skills.
  

• Proficiency in network services and architecture, including WAN, LAN, and VPN.
  

• Hands-on experience with Cisco switches, routers, S2S connections, DMVPNs, BGP, Palo Alto Firewalls, AWS network design, and Route 53.
  

• Capable of making decisions and escalating issues when necessary.
  

• Deep knowledge of security domains, industry best practices, business continuity, disaster recovery, and emerging technologies.
  

• Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously or collaboratively within a team with minimal supervision.
  

• Familiarity with the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation.
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior involvement with DISA and its support for mission partners.
  

• Proficiency in managing cloud-hosted networks.
  

• Masters degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
