Chief Accountant / Controller (m/f/d)

Tasks

• Plans, directs, and coordinates the Financial Accounting functions (including US and Europe)
• Plans, supervises, and assists the team in performing daily, weekly, and monthly accounting processes to properly record, classify and control financial transactions
• Reviews, audits, and prepares journal entries
• Manage expense reporting system and train employees on its use
• Manage local banking (including multi-currency transactions) and accounting firm relationships
• Review, account assignment and posting of all ongoing business transactions
• Processing of payment transactions and payment runs
• Reconciliation of OP accounts and account clarification
• Implementation of the dunning process
• Asset accounting
• Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Participation in and management of projects in accounting, leading involvement in the design and optimization of accounting processes

Requirements

• You have completed a degree (bachelor's or ideally master's) in the field of finance, international accounting, or a comparable course.
• You already have at least five years of professional experience.
• Ideally, you have knowledge of DATEV (Kanzlei Accounting).
• Your English is very solid, both written and spoken.
• You have very good user knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel.
• We can rely on your independent and conscientious way of working.
• You have already gained experience in companies with an international focus.
• Experience with US GAAP would be an advantage.
• Experience with annual audits and supporting controls and documentation
• Familiarity with principles of the German Commercial Code (HGB)
